to complete a square we divide #(b/2)^2# and substitute it for #c#, and add/subtract the same on the other side with #d#.
then solve for #x#
#x^2 +2x + 1=5+1#
#(x+1)^2 = 6#

#x=##-1+-##sqrt#6
