Henry Ford used the achievements of Taylor, an engineer, to revolutionize factory work. It was basically based on work division to avoid loss of time by assigning each worker with a specific task. There was no shift and work became boring and repetitive. Productivity increased and salaries of some of his workers(not the least qualified) were increased, their purchasing power rose and they were able to buy the extra production that this new mode of production had made possible. It was the birth of consumer society.
